Tại cuộc họp báo thường kỳ Bộ Ngoại giao Việt Nam, trả lời về việc gần đây Mỹ đóng băng viện trợ qua tổ chức USAID. Người phát ngôn Bộ Ngoại giao Phạm Thu Hằng cho hay:
“Chúng tôi hết sức quan tâm đến các quyết định của phía Mỹ đối với USAID”. “Việc dừng các dự án hỗ trợ của USAID, nhất là những dự án rà phá bom mìn và vật liệu nổ còn sót lại sau chiến tranh, cũng như dự án tẩy độc sân bay Biên Hòa, sẽ tác động mạnh mẽ đến an toàn của con người cũng như môi trường tại khu vực của các dự án”.
Vậy là vốn chuyện của nước mình, nhưng quen thói ngửa tay nhận viện trợ đã lâu nên giờ lại quy luôn trách nhiệm cho nước Mỹ. Biết rằng nếu bị đóng băng thì sẽ bị ảnh hưởng và có tác động mạnh mẽ đến môi trường, con người Việt Nam, thế nhưng thay vì tìm giải pháp và phê duyệt ngân sách để chủ động làm việc, tiếp tục triển khai các hoạt động để không bị gián đoạn, thì lại ra sức kêu gào như người bị hại, thật không hiểu dàn lãnh đạo Việt đang nghĩ gì nữa.
Tuyên giáo thì ra sức chửi Mỹ, chính quyền thì lại gào mồm đòi viện trợ, trong khi chỉ cần bớt đi vài cái tượng đài là dân đã ấm no, các dự án cũng chẳng bị ảnh hưởng gì. Còn chơi kiểu không muốn mất đằng nào, "vừa ăn cướp vừa la làng" thế này thì khôn hết phần thiên hạ rồi.

At the regular press conference of the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, responding to the recent US freeze on aid through the USAID organization. Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pham Thu Hang said:

"We are very concerned about the US's decisions regarding USAID". "The suspension of USAID's support projects, especially those on clearing mines and explosives left over from the war, as well as the Bien Hoa airport detoxification project, will have a strong impact on the safety of people and the environment in the project areas".

So it is our country's business, but we have been used to receiving aid for a long time, so now we are blaming the US. Knowing that if it is frozen, it will be affected and have a strong impact on the environment and people of Vietnam, but instead of finding solutions and approving the budget to proactively work and continue implementing activities to avoid interruption, we are trying to scream like victims. I really don't understand what the Vietnamese leadership is thinking. The propaganda is trying to curse America, the government is screaming for aid, while just removing a few monuments would make the people feel well-off, and the projects would not be affected at all. But playing the game of not wanting to lose anything, "robbing and screaming at the same time" like this is the smartest thing in the world. Linh Linh
