Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh held a meeting with officials and employees of the Vietnamese Embassy in Saudi Arabia, along with members of the Vietnamese community in the country, during his visit on October 20. This visit was part of his trip to the Middle East to participate in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) - Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Summit.

During his visit to Saudi Arabia to attend the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) - Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Summit, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh held a meeting with officials, staff of the Vietnamese Embassy, and representatives of the Vietnamese community on October 20.

During the meeting, PM Chinh emphasized the continuous attention and care given by the Vietnamese Party and State to overseas Vietnamese, with a special focus on the Vietnamese community in Saudi Arabia. He acknowledged that Vietnamese communities abroad, including those in Saudi Arabia, are an integral part of the Vietnamese nation, serving as a significant resource contributing to the nation's development, defense, and progress.

PM Chinh expressed his wish that with the support of the embassy, overseas Vietnamese would continue to play an important role in fostering a stable and prosperous community.

The Vietnamese Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Dang Xuan Dung, shared that the Vietnamese community in Saudi Arabia, at its peak, consisted of around 20,000 people, but the current community numbers approximately 5,000. These individuals are not permanent residents but rather work and reside in Saudi Arabia for employment purposes.

This meeting marked the concluding activity of Prime Minister Chinh's trip to Saudi Arabia. In the evening, he and his delegation left the Middle East nation for their return home.
