Blaming the wrong players for the downfall of South Vietnam. Lets set the record straight ...

1) In now declassified materials, Henry Kissinger met Chu and Mao in February, 1972 and basically stated "the US was able to live with a communist country like China, the US could also live with a small communist country like VN"

2) As the Republican president, Nixon's “written guarantee” to President Thieu was nothing but smoke and mirror, but was enough to strong arm President Thieu to sign. The "written guarantee" was "the US would respond strongly in case of violation of the Paris Accords by Hanoi'. Thus, the Paris Accords now had the three required signatures and Hanoi knew that the US would be Brutus and betray her ally.

3) During the Ford administration, both houses of Congress were control by the Democratic Party which then killed multiple bills for the continuing funding of VNQH.

4) In the manic world of politics, the Democratic and Republican Parties have come full circle in terms of their prior positions, respectively

So there you have it ... two Republican Presidents (Nixon & Ford) betrayal and a Democratic control Congress that could care less!
